Does Sugar Really Affect Our Sex Drive?

Today I woke up with the urge to deviate from talking about sugar, weight and cravings.

(Perhaps it’s because February marks the halfway point to me being married 19 years!)

Sometimes we can get in our heads about our weight and what the scale might say and we simply forget what life is really ALL about.

For sure eating well for your specific body’s needs and keeping your body fit and strong are important to a long healthy life but I say…

What about all the other stuff that makes up life… like our relationships!

They are the MOST important part of your health…the emotional component… yet they can be so overlooked in the rush rush, get stuff done daily activities.

So many times we don’t realize the power of our relationships and the emotions attached to them.

Researchers reporting in the International Journal Of Psychophysiology found that it’s not just angry outbursts that cause blood pressure to rise — during the course of a week, every time their subjects recalled the situation, their stress levels soared.

Biochemist Dr. William Frey compared the tears of women who cried for emotional reasons with those whose eyes welled up on exposure to onions.

Emotional tears were found to contain high levels of the hormones and neurotransmitters associated with stress. Frey concluded that the purpose of emotional crying is to remove stress chemicals. Holding back tears leaves the body prone to anxiety, including weakened immunity, impaired memory and poor digestion.

What I wanted to share today were some quick tips and tools I’ve picked up over the past 18 1/2 years being married that has my marriage (and my sex life) functioning high with great satisfaction.

Tools for a happy marriage (and vibrant sex drive):

❤️Say kind words or don’t say anything

❤️Never go to bed angry

❤️It’s never about the money

❤️Remember why you married each other

❤️You don’t have to feel in love all the time but you can still respect one another

❤️Always tell the truth

❤️If your having an argument and feel unheard it’s probably because you’re trying to be right

❤️Listen before speaking

❤️Stop blaming others for the dissatisfaction you feel

❤️Clean up the habits you picked up from childhood that don’t serve you

❤️Always choose KINDNESS over being right
